Matthew 22:14

“For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

In this Bible verse, Jesus is speaking in parables. If we read closely, Jesus is using a wedding banquet as a metaphor for the kingdom of heaven. In this wedding banquet, many people were sent an invitation, some refused it ("did not deserve to come" Matthew 22:8), others accepted it. When the King (God) saw his guest, he spotted one man that didn't have wedding clothes on (didn't follow the requirements to enter the kingdom of God). This man was thrown out of the wedding banquet. After you've understood the parable, Matthew 22:14 doesn't need much explaination, as it was the last sentence in the parable
